Best New ESG ETF Award went to ECOZ, sub-advised by Purview Investments!

The annual ETF.com award just concluded. In the Best New ESG ETF category, the climate impact ESG ETF, ticker ECOZ, took the award among five nominees, including products from Blackrock, Vanguard and JP Morgan. This is a pleasant surprise to both the ETF issuer, a start-up TrueShares and its subadvisor Purview Investment, a 100% women owned and run firm. As the lead portfolio manager for ECOZ and the founder of Purview Investments, Dr. Linda Zhang commented: “It’s particularly humbling to win the award against industry giants. It proves that there is still room to stand out for climate and ESG specialty firms.”

She hopes that this win could spur the conversation of creating a product that both embraces the new green industrial revolution as investment opportunities and radically reduces portfolio carbon footprint, as the world is marching toward net zero emission economy in the upcoming decades.

She also said that “This win is for all women PMs, still a rarity in the industry, representing just 11% PM in the U.S., 14% globally, according to the recent Morningstar study.” She noted that these stats sadly haven’t changed much since she was a mutual fund PM at Blackrock over a decade ago. Dr. Zhang is a co-founder and a board member of Women in ETFs, an organization actively fulfilling its mission to close the gender gap in the industry.
